It's been a long time since I updated this blog, because of the many media outlets that I had to update and become more of a high priority scale now. Apologize ...

Many are asking about the Facebook Pop Up Like Box Widget feature that I use today, because it uses cookies to regulate its appearance (in a matter of one or (x) days for one visitor). Most Like Box used by Blogger platform blogs uses PopUp with a timer and always appears. This is quite annoying, because visitors should only be offered once in a while, not treated to every page load. Plus, the timer feature is also often annoying. You want to see a short article just have to wait 30 seconds for the popup to disappear, there is no close button at all. So very very annoying right.

Why does it have to be a popup? Because popups are proven to heighten conversion rate, be it like, follow, subscribe, even sales. As long as the popup does not interfere, does not appear every time, does not make visitors uncomfortable, really legitimate using this model.

The Likebox that I use is simple, but based on the number of times per user per day, and has a close button, without a timer. I hate timers the most, so I didn't do that. Many popup layout designs are actually the same, because this pop up layout design is becoming a trend. But I still use Facebook iframe as the base of the Like Box because it's the most easily positioned, compared to HTML5 or XFBML. There's no link attribution on the widget, so it won't make the popup look unprofessional. The important thing is not copying and posting people carelessly without attribution / sources. Deal yes

The following snippet script:

To make it more practical, I paste everything in the widget so there's no need to add CSS or javascript in Blogger HTML edit or edit the footer template on WordPress (no plugin).

Blogger:

1. Open the layout page on the dashboard. Dashboard> Layout.

2. Add a gadget, take the bottom, if there is a footer gadget it's better. If no, use the bottom sidebar gadget. Tomorrow if you want to add more gadgets, make sure this Likebox PopUp gadget is still below.

3. Then select the type of gadget HTML / Javascript.

4. Copy the entire code above, paste in an editor such as NotePad or NotePad ++. (to edit)

5. Enter the edited script and save.

Wordpress:

1. Enter the dashboard> appearance> widget.

2. Select text widget (text)

3. Insert into the lowest sidebar or footer widget (if any), the important thing is to make sure the position is the lowest of all widgets.

4. Copy the entire code above, paste in an editor such as NotePad or NotePad ++. (to edit)

5. Enter the edited script and save.

Customization

After the script is copied and entered into a text editor (notepad, etc.), and before installing it on the blog, customize the following sections:

  • Red is HTML to call jquery (which is hosted by Google), in some cases, if you already have jquery before, crashes can occur, so some scripts just don't work. So, if it already exists, delete this jquery section. If after trying the popup does not work, try to install / return to original. To see if there is already jquery or not (most templates already) open HTML edit in dashboard> template, and search for it with keywords jquery. Or just remember the gadget / widget that has jquery or not. If you don't want to be complicated at the start, just plug it in first to try.

  • .delay (20000) is the value of the time the Likebox delay appears when the page is accessed by a visitor for the first time. Score 20000 in milliseconds, means 20 seconds. I personally prefer the slower delay for mastering the page and the likebox is loaded correctly. So that visitors do not quickly close, and even more surprised a little when reading the article. Heuheu Change the value to be larger or smaller to further slow down or speed up the appearance of the likebox popup.

  • The script line at green color is a statement to state the time limit for the cookie to be planted in the visitor's browser, the value is expressed in a matter of days. Pay attention to the section expires: 30, that means the cookie is valid in 30 days (before then appearing again to the same visitor, every time 30 days), change the value to smaller or larger. For example 1, if you want a popup to appear once a day for visitors with the same browser. But if you want the likebox popup to appear every time the user opens a blog page (whatever) Delete green bar that.

  • https://www.facebook.com/bukarahasiablogspot, change this with your Facebook Page URL.

Oh yes, this advice, if you want to do the test, you should first remove the green bar, so that the likebox appears continuously. Let me remember the original place, leave the line blank, don't delete it, give it a space (top to bottom distance). If it's fixed properly, return the green line to all places. Or better yet, if you have a blog and template for testing, if it's cleared up, then the main blog is installed.

That's it for now, if there is a problem, please drop a comment below.

Have a nice blogging, then ...
