THE STORY OF THE GOOSE AND GOLD EGG

Life Success Blog | Definition of Effectiveness: The Story of the Goose and the Golden EggLike the previous article, this article is titled Definition of Effectiveness: The Story of the Goose and the Golden Egg I also wrote based on a great book, The Seven Habits Of Highly Effective People.

Before I continue, I hope that this article will meet bloggers and loyal readers of the Successful Life Blog articles, in a healthy condition and remain enthusiastic in swinging through step by step, in achieving the success of life that has been talked about.

When you look at the title of this article, you may all ask, what does this Effectiveness Definition have to do with the Story of the Goose and the Golden Egg? I chose this title based on my conclusion after reading the book The Seven Habits Of Highly Effective People about the Definition of Effectiveness, where in the book, this story was raised to facilitate readers in understanding a principle - Basic Definition of Effectiveness.

Here is the Story of the Goose and the Golden Egg:

This fable tells the story of a poor farmer who one day found a sparkling golden egg in his pet's goose. At first he thought this must be some kind of trick. But when he was going to throw it away, he thought again and brought it home to check it out. The egg turned out to be pure gold! The farmer cannot believe in his luck. He became increasingly distrusted when the next day the experience repeated itself. Day after day, he woke up and rushed to the nest and found another golden egg. He became very rich. all this seems like something that is impossible become reality.

But when he got richer, greed and impatience arose. Impatient waiting day after day to get the golden egg, finally the farmer decided to kill the goose and scoop up all the golden eggs at once. However, when he opened the goose's stomach, it was empty. There are no golden eggs, and now there is no way to get gold eggs anymore. The farmer destroyed the goose that produced the golden eggs.

In the fable above a natural law is seen, a principle - the Basic Definition of Effectiveness. Many people see effectiveness in the golden egg paradigm, where the more we produce, the more we work, the more effective we become.

But the above fable shows that true effectiveness is a function of two things: what is produced or produced (golden eggs) and the assets that produce or the capacity of production (geese).

If we use a life pattern that focuses on the golden egg and ignores the goose, we will immediately lose the assets that produce the golden egg. Conversely, if we only take care of the sangs without regard to the golden eggs, we will not have the necessary supplies to support our lives.

Effectiveness lies in balance - what is called a P / KP Balance. Where P. = Production the desired result, namely golden eggs, and KP = Production capability, the ability or asset to produce golden eggs.

To more easily understand the Definition of Effectiveness, I will give very simple examples, which hopefully we can use as material for contemplation to measure our level of effectiveness.

First example:
We as employees: Because we are so motivated to pursue a career, sometimes we forget to take care of our health.
In this case: P = Career, and KP = Ourself in relation to health.
The level of competition in the work environment, the work is almost deadline, complaint from the client, everything forces us to work even harder, so that our health is gradually neglected. If this continues, it is clear that our performance and productivity will also decline, and it makes sense when in the end we will even lose the career opportunity itself.
The P / KP balance (Effectiveness) in this example is: We do have to work hard to pursue a career, but we also don't neglect valuable assets, which in this case is our health.

Second example:
In physical assets such as vehicles, or specifically for blogger friends, for example a computer that is like a 'heart' for the activities of a blogger.
In this case: P = Purpose and benefits of using physical assets, and KP = Physical assets themselves.
The P / KP balance (Effectiveness) in this example is: We do have to optimize the use of physical assets that we have to achieve our goals and desires, but we also have to take good care of those physical assets.

Now blogger friends and loyal readers of Life Success Blog articles, pay attention to the balance P / KP (Effectiveness) of all friends, whatever it is, and be effective, so that with it, I have good hopes, 'we will get that golden egg every day' in our journey to life success.

Thus my article this time, hopefully provides positive benefits for friends.
Thanks.

Always success,

Life Success Blog
