Chad Meredith Hurley is an American tycoon and media entrepreneur who co-founded the popular video sharing website 'YouTube' and serves as its CEO. He is also the CEO and co-founder of the 'MixBit' video sharing service. He joined 'eBay division PayPal' after lecture and focused primarily on his user interface. He was involved in designing the original 'PayPal' logo and then collaborating with fellow company colleagues, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim, to create a 'YouTube' video sharing website in February 2005. Hurley became YouTube's first CEO and primarily paid attention to aspects of tagging and sharing videos from the website. He was ranked 28th in the '50 Important People Now 'list in Business 2.0 in June 2006.




A few months later, 'Google' spent US $ 1.65 billion to acquire 'YouTube.' This site currently operates as a subsidiary of 'Google.'   • Chad Meredith Hurley was born on January 24, 1977, in Reading, Pennsylvania, USA, to Don and Joann Hurley. He is the second of three children and their eldest son. He has an older sister named Heather and a younger brother named Brent. Hurley grew up near Birdsboro, Pennsylvania.

  • He developed an interest in art as a child and showed extraordinary artistic skills while growing up. According to sources, he even sold sketches and other works of art during his elementary school years and eventually set up shop on the sidewalk outside his house, illustrating his entrepreneurial tendencies from an early age. He also developed an interest in computers and electronic media in his high school years.

  • He attended 'Twin Valley High School' in Elverson, Berks County, Pennsylvania, and completed his graduation in 1995. While there, he remained a prominent runner of the cross-country school program and became a member when he won two of the 'PIAA State' Titles in 1992 and 1994.   • ‘The YouTube domain name was activated on February 14, 2005, and the website was developed gradually in the following months. It began as an initial capital technology funded by venture capital with a primary investment of $ 11.5 million from the American venture capital company 'Sequoia Capital' and $ 8 million from 'Artist Capital Management.'
